Big Title
After many years in the wool and mohair industries, it is no surprise that Beverley’s artistic interests have not strayed far from ‘fibre fascination’. But it was not until she retired after several decades working for rural merchandise companies, combined with freelance journalism covering all things grape and wine, that the time and opportunity for arts and craft became a reality.
Beverley’s needle felting activities grew from crocheting birds and toys for her grand- children and the desire for definition and detail in the finished item. Trail and error evolved into a successful end product. The repetitive action of ‘stabbing’ the wool had the unexpected advantage of ‘stress relief’.
The needle felting and ‘painting with wool’ pastime has expanded to running needle felting workshops. Floral and wildflowers crafted from wool felt are a more recent addition.
The workshops cater for beginners wanting to learn the basics of needle felting, either 2D or realistic 3D pieces, or those wanting to take their skills to the next level.
