Big Title
Christine's artworks are the culmination of an initial emotional response which is visually recorded via sketching and photographs. This is evident in the image above, titled 'Beauty in the Bits that are Missing' where she has visually recorded her response to being amongst Karri trees and listening to the birdsong of Magpies (Koolbardie) and Willy Wagtails (Chitter Chitter). In the studio, she allows the creative process to be the driving force towards the expression of the original response. Two dimensional line, shape and colour characterise the symbols she uses to share her original idea for a visual story. Abstract Expressionism is the most appropriate genre to describe her artworks.
Christine has been exhibiting as a professional artist since 1985. She has participated in many solo and group exhibitions, notably Bunbury Regional Art Galleries WA, Mossenson Galleries in Subiaco and Fremantle WA, Sculpture by the Bay, Dunsborough and Yume Ya Gallery, Melbourne, Victoria.
She has won awards for the Albany Art Prize, Sculpture by the Bay, Dunsborough, local portrait and landscaoe prizes in Bridgetown, Indigenous art awards in Boyup Brook and she was selected as one of 36 artists from 340 applicants to participate in The Collie Art Prize exhibition in 2022.
Christine has works in collections in Canada, the USA, the UK, France, Hong Kong, NSW, VIC and WA.
