Heather Elliott-Smith, an accomplished glass artist, has relocated from the Ferguson Valley to Nannup. She has participated in the Dardanup Art Trail for several years at their studio in the Ferguson Valley.
Her award- winning glass art, and sculptural works, features a range of glass types and incorporate metal, timber and a range of other mediums.
Heather's career as an educator included many years as an art teacher.
She studied fine art has extensive experience in a range of art mediums. Her initial works in glass was leadlight glass. However, after doing a course in kiln-formed glass in 2005, her passion for the medium has burgeoned.
Her works include functional items, whimsical animals in addition to exquisite sculptures and centrepieces that are architectural and highlight the qualities of glass. She manipulates glass to highlight colour and form to create spectacular works.
Recycled clear glass is salvaged and reutilised in sculptural works.
The working studio and gallery in Nannup features Heathers work and works grace the gardens at the Nannup studio and can be seen in situ.
